August 2024 Release Notes

We're thrilled to share some major developments this month, including the launch of our new free tier, the release of liblab Hub, the introduction of the Java v2 SDK Generator, and the upcoming end of support for our v1 SDK Generators.

New Releases This Month

liblab hub

We’re excited to announce the launch of liblab hub - a free collection of SDKs and SDK documentation generated by liblab for popular APIs. Responding to customer requests for easier access to our SDKs, we created the liblab hub to help you dive deeper into our product. Explore at hub.liblab.com.

Key Features:

Comprehensive SDK Collection: Access a wide range of SDKs for various industries and applications.

Detailed Documentation: Every SDK comes with thorough documentation to guide you through the integration process.

Open Source: All SDKs are publicly available on GitHub, ensuring transparency and community collaboration.

Easy Access: Direct links to the relevant package managers make it easy to integrate SDKs into your projects.

New Free Tier!

We’re making liblab even more accessible! Previously, we offered 5 free SDK generations, but we’ve decided to up the ante. Now, all organizations can generate up to 5 SDKs per month, free of charge. This allows you to fully test our product and SDKs before making a financial commitment. Learn more and get started today!

What’s included with liblab’s free tier?

SDK Builds: 5 SDK builds per month, with each build being one SDK in one language. SDK builds using the Petstore API spec do not count towards this limit.

Features: All liblab features are available on the free tier, ensuring you can fully explore the benefits of our product.

Availability: The free tier is available to all organizations (commercial and open source), regardless of size.

New and Improved Java SDK Generator

In June, we announced the Alpha version of our new Java v2 SDK Generator, which includes significant improvements over v1, such as enhanced models, better SDK code snippets, and both sync and async versions of every service method. After extensive testing and enhancements, Java v2 is now the default option for Java SDK generation. Learn more about the full list of v2 features at developers.liblab.com.

Key Features:

Simplified Complex Models

Simplified Configuration: Support for ‘allOf’, ‘oneOf’ and ‘anyOf’, making model handling more intuitive.

Support for Parameter Serialization: The SDK aligns with your server's requirements for parameters, based on the specified style and explode properties.

Improved SDK Code Snippets: Provides snippets for authentication, sample usage, and every endpoint call, making it easier and faster for end users to get up and running.

End of Support for v1 Java, Python, Typescript Languages

Over the past few months Java, Python, and TypeScript SDK Generators have been upgraded to version 2 with enhanced features like improved SDK Code snippets, Example SDK Folders with every SDK, improved code readability, and more. Java v1, Python v1, and TypeScript v1 will be sunset by January 1st, 2025. The liblab config file now defaults to version 2 for these languages, and customers can easily upgrade existing config files by updating the liblab version for the given language to 2. We will be reaching out individually to all affected customers to ensure a smooth transition. For more information, please see the liblab SDK Generator Matenience Policy.
